Smokie Group - having released in 1982 two albums actually six years was in a creative pause as the following album was published in 1988 and already without Norman.
as the producer of an album acted Mike Chapman who was a producer of the British rock group Smokie earlier. Recording of the album was carried out at Polar Music studio in Stockholm. Alby became the best-seller across the whole Europe and with a copies more than one million copies was sold. The first single of an album — the composition of "The Heat Is On" became one of the loudest hits, having reached top of charts in Sweden and Norway and having become the second in Belgium and Holland. The second single "Wrap Your Arms Around Me" became number one in Belgium and Denmark and also the fifth in Sweden, Holland and the Republic of South Africa and entered in top-20 in Germany and France. In the USA the popularity was found by other composition of an album — blues "Can’t Shake Loose", it could rise to the twenty ninth line in Billboard Hot 100.
